The research object is the Ascanian breeds sheep adaptability under the hot conditions of southern Ukraine; coefficients of thermal sensitivity, the reactivity of the animal organism during heat stress, the young sheep index of heat resistance. Research methods - analytical, zootechnical, biochemical, biometric, economic methods. In order to determine the efficiency of using cross-bred young sheep for the production of lamb meat in the systematic exploitation of perennial pasture, a comparative analysis of productivity was carried out under grazing conditions of Ascanian Fine-Fleeced rams (AFF) and cross-bred animals obtained from Ascanian Fine-Fleeced ewes and ram-sires of the East Frisian breed. The average live weight of crossbred newborn lambs was 4.6 kg, while that of purebred lambs was 4.4 kg. It was found that at weaning at the age of 90 days, the AFF lambs during the suckling period had an average daily gain of 182 ± 8.12 g, while the domestic animals had 201 ± 7.96 g, or 10.4% more at Р>0.95. The live weight of Merino lambs at the age of 6.5 months was 40.5±0.87 kg, while the live weight of domestic animals was 43.3±0.70 kg, with Р>0.95. Feed costs per 1 kg of live weight for a period of 3.0 - 4.0 months. AFF lambs of the breed made up - 6.80 fodder units, while domestic animals have 6.58 fodder units, i.e. 3.2% less. To determine the meat productivity of young sheep, a control slaughter was carried out. It was established that the slaughter weight of AFF animals was 18.5 kg. Chemical analysis showed that the content of intramuscular fat in AFF rams was 2.21±0.07%, while in crossbred lambs it was 2.48±0.08%, or 12.2% more, when Р>0 ,95. Based on the results of the research, an innovative technology for the intensive production of lamb meat was developed under the conditions of southern Ukraine.
