Description

It is analyzed the formation of the idea of totalitarianism as a special political phenomenon. The general evolution of the concept of "totalitarianism" in scientific knowledge and discursive practice is highlighted. The main problematic aspects of the study of totalitarianism at the present stage are clarified. The peculiarities of overcoming the totalitarian legacy in the post-Soviet countries are analyzed, the main internal factors that have had and continue to have the greatest impact on the formation of foreign policy of independent post-Soviet states are identified. It is substantiates the relevant conclusions and recommendations to the state authorities of Ukraine regarding the adaptation of the experience of post-Soviet countries in overcoming the totalitarian legacy of the USSR to the needs of Ukraine, an adjustment of foreign policy priorities in the conditions of the transformation of the post-Soviet space and in the context of the current tasks of further studying totalitarian issues.
