Psychological and pedagogical mechanisms of creating a gender-equitable environment as non-discriminatory, creative and developmental and health-preserving are theoretically substantiated and empirically described in accordance with current legislative documents and international obligations of Ukraine on reforming the national education system. The terms “gender-equitable environment”, “egalitarian personality”, “gender deprivation” have been substantiated and introduced into scientific circulation. From the standpoint of gender methodology, the author's definition of the egalitarian personality of the future NUS specialist is presented. Socio-psychological determinants of gender deprivation in education, marriage and family have been identified. Principles are substantiated and developed, indicators of non-discriminatory education are specified. Ways to implement foreign experience in the domestic practice of premarital training and sexual education, preparation of young people for marriage and family have been identified. A systematic analysis of gender and sexual socialization of children and youth has been carried out. The obtained results of the research were included in the areas of work of the Research Center for Gender Education and Upbringing of Pupils and Students of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine – TNPU, Center for Gender Research and Implementation of Equal Rights and Opportunities, School of Gender Equality, virtual Museum of Tolerance, implementation of the Roadmap for Gender and Fair Environment in Ukraine.
