These are: a generalized empirical criterion for the onset of self-balancing, or a generalized criterion for stability of the main movements (on which self-balancing occurs), developed for rotor systems with passive self-balancers for automatic balancing of rotors on the go; energy method developed for isolated rotating mechanical systems, based on the criterion of the minimum (in particular, conditional) total, potential or total mechanical energy of the system. A certain analogy between rotating isolated systems and rotary systems was used. In both systems, ideally, the rotating body should rotate around the longitudinal axis and this axis should not be distorted. As a result of the work, the following were modernized: - a generalized empirical criterion for the onset of self-balancing, or a generalized criterion for the stability of basic movements for the study of isolated rotating systems and moving free systems with rotating bodies; - energy method for studying the dynamics of rotor systems. To modernize the energy method, the authors of the project expanded the concept of conditional stability by highlighting mechanical systems in which movement is necessarily established over time. The energy functions of such systems were studied for a conditional extremum under the condition that the movement of the system was established. From this, the necessary stability conditions are obtained. For substantiation, modernization and verification of empirical and energetic methods, a number of model problems were solved, which significantly expand the understanding of the dynamics of the specified systems.
