Through theoretical analysis of psychological-pedagogical and aesthetic-artistic sources, the essence of the concepts «aesthetic education of high school students through ballroom choreography» and «aesthetic education of high school students» has been clarified. The aesthetic-educational potential of ballroom choreography in relation to high school students has been revealed. A retrospective analysis of the formation of ballroom choreography as an art and discipline capable of shaping the aesthetic sphere of personality has been conducted. Components (cognitive, emotional-value, activity-practical), criteria (cognitive-reflective, emotional-value, activity-executive), and indicators characterizing the levels of aesthetic education of high school students have been identified. For the first time, a theoretical justification and methodology, as well as pedagogical conditions for the aesthetic education of high school students through ballroom choreography in youth groups, have been developed.
