Object of study - legal relations arising in the course of economic activity in an innovative society.
Purpose - to conduct a comprehensive study of ensuring the effectiveness of the innovation process, in particular, to consider topical issues related to the formation of priority areas of innovation in Ukraine and the implementation of the principle of freedom of enterprise in the innovation process. The article analyzes the unification of legislation in the field of innovation and the legal nature of venture capital investment in innovation, the issues of determining the essence, forms and stages of technology transfer in the legal regulation of the innovation process in Ukraine, considers the legal aspects of forming criteria for the effectiveness of innovation and the problems of assessing the technological competitiveness of Ukraine in the context of association with the EU.
Research methods: To achieve this goal, the study used general scientific and special methods of cognition: dialectical, formal legal, comparative legal, systemic and structural, logical, legal modeling, analytical, etc.
