The problem to address in this research is that language and culture are interconnected elements of social life. The phenomenon of culture and communication in their inseparable connection is examined in the works of contemporary translation scholars, literary critics, linguists, as well as specialists in the field of pedagogy and psychology. Globalisation is making the problem of intercultural communication more acute.
Object of research: multi-genre discourse, theoretical and practical issues of translation as a means of intercultural communication, psychological aspects of translator's activity, psychological and pedagogical aspects.
The subject of the research: information, journalistic, scientific, technical, economic and fiction publications of recent decades, a wide range of units of analysis: specific vocabulary, individual utterance, communication block, text, ways of intercultural and interpersonal communication, psycholinguistic aspects of translation activity, didactic aspects.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the issue of intercultural and interpersonal communication in its connection with sociolinguistics, literary studies, psychology and pedagogy, methods of teaching translation and foreign languages and translation theory.
