Development of a technology for the formation of heat-resistant coatings on aluminum alloys by plasma electrolytic oxidation
popup.description2
The object of research is the technological process of manufacturing parts with oxide coatings formed by plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) for operation in aggressive and abrasive environments at elevated temperatures.
Purpose - to develop a technology for the formation of heat-resistant coatings on aluminum alloys by plasma electrolytic oxidation.
Research methods - systematic approach, methods of mathematical and computer modeling, as well as laboratory experiments.
Aluminum alloy parts were selected for hardening with oxide heat-resistant coatings that form PEO, such as the liners and pistons of the internal combustion engine used to drive the drone. Based on the results of computer modeling, it was found that the gradual replacement of aluminum with chromium leads to a continuous evolution of the electronic structure, the transition from a predominantly ionic framework in aluminum oxide Al₂O₃ to a mixed ionic-covalent system in Cr2O3. This serves as a scientific basis for the targeted search for the composition of heat-resistant oxide coatings, the component composition of electrolytes, and the rational choice of reinforcing particles, in particular for functionally gradient materials obtained by centrifugal reinforcement and subjected to PEO. The results of modeling the movement of electrolyte and temperature in the interelectrode space of the electrochemical cell and the temperature distribution in the parts during the formation of an oxide heat-resistant coating allowed us to substantiate the modes of PEO. The modes of cutting processing, plastic deformation of aluminum alloy parts and roughness parameters before PEO were substantiated. The influence of technological parameters of the PEO process (component composition of the electrolyte, current modes, etc.) on the physical and mechanical properties (microhardness, adhesion strength of the coating to the substrate) and on the heat resistance of oxide coatings was investigated.
The stress-strain state of a
