The aim of the work is to develop a portable biosensor system based on amperometric platinum electrodes with immobilized enzymes (lactate oxidase and pyruvate toxdase) for measuring the ratio of lactate to pyruvate concentrations in the blood during medical diagnostics, in particular for clinical assessment of the severity of the condition of patients with polytrauma.

Monobiosensors for the analysis of pyruvate and lactate were developed and combined into a single biosensor system. The effect of solution parameters on the operation of the biosensor system was investigated. The reproducibility of signals, operational stability and storage stability of this system were investigated. A method for the simultaneous determination of lactate and pyruvate concentrations was developed and tested. The developed biosensor system was tested and the correlation of the results with traditional methods was investigated.
