To develop and adapt a sandwich version of the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method for determining protein C in human blood plasma to increase its specificity and sensitivity by selecting the optimal combination of monoclonal antibodies and a calibrator for its execution and the conditions of the analysis, as well as optimizing all its stages and conducting a preliminary assessment of prospects a new antithrombotic agent based on recombinant protein C.

The study aimed to establish the diagnostic and prognostic significance of protein C in pathological conditions associated with the risk of intravascular thrombosis and to develop a laboratory method for its determination. A correlation was identified between reduced protein C levels and the accumulation of soluble fibrin in patients with ischemic heart disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, and abdominal aortic aneurysm. A laboratory method of analysis based on monoclonal antibodies was developed and validated, enabling the quantitative measurement of protein C in blood plasma. The findings form the basis for creating methodological recommendations and applying protein C as a marker for thrombosis risk assessment.
