The basic social, economic and environmental factors of formation of living standards of rural population are defined. Established standards and guarantees in ensuring a decent standard of living for rural residents. In addition, the impact of the ecological state and economic situation in the state on the standard of living of the population is substantiated and an assessment of self-sufficiency of households as a means of increasing the level of well-being of villagers is provided. The State policy of Ukraine on socio-economic and environmental development of rural areas in the context of the requirements of the European Union is characterized, as well as certain proposals for the post-war revival of the Ukrainian village.
