Methodical recommendations for the search and processing of document archival arrays have been prepared, in which the source science method of searching, identifying and selecting archival sources is presented; basic techniques and principles of archival heuristics are outlined; the peculiarities of the reference apparatus of today's archives are analyzed. The results of the selection and systematization of the source base on agrarian topics are presented, in particular, on the example of documents from the personal archival funds of agrarian scientists and agronomists.
