Tutoring students the methods of computer simulation and establishing collaboration with scientific groups in various fields for participation in international projects.

The Interdisciplinary Center for Computer Simulations (ICCS) was founded as an infrastructural unit of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics (ICMP) of NAS of Ukraine. The Academic council of ICMP unanimously voted for the Regulations (Charter) of ICCS. Meetings with the administration and responsible persons for M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs at the Department of Physics of the Ivan Franko Lviv National University were organized. It was agreed about the courses for students to be taught at the ICCS and about a corresponding Agreement between the I.Franko LNU and ICMP. Regular seminars/workshop were initiated and a 1-st annual workshop “Nanophysics meets computer simulations” was organized on the 8-th November 2024. In the workshop participated researchers from Ukraine (Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv), Switzerland, France and USA. An educational course for beginners in the computer simulations entitled “Basics of Monte-Carlo simulations” was prepared. A number of advanced scientific studies with applications of computer simulations were carried out in agreement with the Calendar plan and Technical task. The results of these studies were published in 4 scientific papers in journals from quartile Q1 and in 5 Abstracts of scientific conferences. A room in the main building of ICMP was cleaned up for the computer lab of ICCS. A purchase of a 10+1 equipment for the computer class was made. A purchase of a rack for cluster units and servers for computing cluster of ICCS was performed. The cluster will be the main unit for the high-performance computing at ICCS.
