popup.description1
- development of system bases of out- and demecology on restoration of populations of rare plant species on the basis of research of their ecological and physiological features and application of biotechnological methods;
- assessment of environmental hazards from the latest household pollutants, and development of a system for early diagnosis of these biological risks, pollution prevention and effective disposal of such pollutants that are increasingly entering the surface waters of Ukraine;
- development of effective methods that allow to identify substances that cause endocrine disorders in the environment, as well as methods for their quantitative assessment, detection and prediction of damage to living organisms and prevention of toxic effects;
- establishment of general laws and regional features of physical and chemical transformations of soils and aquatic ecosystems in the conditions of intensive agriculture and urbanization processes; determining the effects on biota;
- determination of the content of alkaline, alkaline earth, heavy metals and hydrochemical parameters in the components of hydroecosystems (water, bottom sediments, coastal soil) to determine their ratios and patterns of transformation, as well as to conduct an approximate ecological assessment of aquatic ecosystems and soils;
- study of physiological, biochemical and molecular mechanisms of response of fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster, planktonic crustacean daphnia Daphnia magna and carp fish Danio rerio to the effects of widely used herbicides and insecticides under conditions of individual and complex action;
- development of in vitro test systems and user-friendly protocols for rapid assessment of biosafety and toxicity of cyanotoxins and widely used pharmaceuticals.
popup.description2
The purpose: Verifying the effectiveness of the functioning and productivity of experimental organisms and their groups under the influence of existing and model factors, including military operations, on agricultural lands and water resources.
Tasks:
– determining a method for rapid diagnostics of the biological response to pollution of the aquatic environment with rare earth metals entering water bodies as a result of military operations based on the analysis of the content of essential metals in the tissues of a bivalve mollusk;
– establishing the patterns of reactions of non-target organisms to the action of environmentally relevant concentrations of water pollutants (including those of military origin) and determining the main strategies for adaptation to their effects;
– studying the structural and functional restructuring of medicinal plants in the process of adaptation to ex vitro; clarifying the prospects for using adapted plants as a potential source of raw materials for obtaining biologically active substances;
– analysis of the feasibility of using pharmaceuticals and biologically active additives of plant origin regarding their potential use as corrective agents for the treatment of post-traumatic conditions and metabolic disorders caused by the action of extreme environmental factors, including the consequences of military operations;
– creation of an approach to predicting soil quality using the developed algorithm and mathematical model obtained using regression analysis; determination of the content of heavy metals in soils, clarification of their suitability for use according to this indicator; establishment of the relationship between the mass fraction of organic Carbon in the soil and the spectral reflectance coefficient of certain wavelengths; identification of the nature of the spectral reflectance curves of the soil changed as a result of military operations and restored by biochar.
