The subject of the study is content and technologies of teaching and supporting children with visual impairments in crisis situations. The purpose of the scientific research: to develop psychological and pedagogical technologies of teaching and supporting children with visual impairments and their families in crisis situations. Research methods : theoretical: logical-semantic; system-structural, structural-functional and structural-logical methods; methods of analysis and synthesis; methods of classification; analysis of psychological-pedagogical, methodological literature, study and generalization of psychological-pedagogical experience, comparative analysis. Empirical: methods of pedagogical and psychological diagnostics, with the help of which information was obtained about the state of the problem in the practice of special general education institutions. As a result of the study, it was determined main directions of modernization of the content of education of blind children and children with visual impairments through changing the nature of the object and educational process, the model of interaction between the teacher and the student. Unlike traditional, subject-oriented learning: knowledge and methods of activity that are mastered by the student are not the main goal of learning, but only a means, a condition for realizing the human need to "be a person", for realizing personal functions, for the formation of an individual as a person of culture, for the formation of an individual as a subject of knowledge.
