Head Petruk Oksana M., Кандидат педагогічних наук Registration Date 18-01-2025 Organization Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The purpose of the study is to substantiate and develop didactic and methodological principles for overcoming the educational losses of primary and basic secondary education students caused by the military aggression of the Russian Federation and other factors of negative impact on learning outcomes in the context of digitalization of education. popup.description2 The original concepts content of the study (“losses”, “learning losses”, “learning gaps”, “educational losses”) has been clarified; the differentiation of concepts which characterize the negative dynamics of students’ educational achievements has been generalized; the differentiation of the concepts “learning losses” and “educational losses” has been defined. Domestic and foreign experience in measuring students’ learning losses, developing scientifically based solutions to overcome them, ensuring the quality of education and supporting the sustainability of the education system in crisis conditions has been studied and generalized. A diagnostic toolset has been developed for a comprehensive study of learning losses: Google-Form questionnaires for primary and lower secondary school teachers, for parents of primary and lower secondary school students, lower secondary school students and school principals. A large-scale survey of almost 138,000 respondents has been conducted, including: 24,567 parents of primary school students, 7,395 primary school teachers, 12,274 lower secondary school teachers, 59,824 parents of lower secondary school students, 31,936 students, 1,612 school principals. The results of the survey regarding: determining the specifics of organizing the educational process under martial law; quantitative and qualitative assessment of the dynamics of students’ academic achievements during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 academic years; methods for diagnosing losses in students’ learning; measures implemented to minimize / compensate the students’ learning losses; proposals from subjects of educational process regarding further possible ways to restore educational opportunities for students have been analyzed and summarized. The factors of students’ learning losses during the pandemic period and under the martial law have been summarized.
