Registration Date 19-01-2025 Organization Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 To develop and realize the school literary education content on the basic subject cycle of general secondary education in the context of the demands of the Government Standard of Basic Secondary Education (2020). popup.description2 The stages of projecting and implementing the content of school literary education for the basic subject cycle of study are outlined; the principles of selecting the content of school literary education for the basic subject cycle of study (continuity and perspective, age-specificity, scientific and accessible, systematic acquisition of subject (reading) and key competences of students in grades 7-9, educational training, emotionality) are determined; the criteria for selecting the content of school literary education are formulated (psychological and pedagogical, content, literary and methodical); the priority factors for developing the content of literary education in grades 7-9 are identified: artistic perfection of works, parity of texts of classical and modern literature, consideration of the reading and cognitive interests of older adolescents, development of competent student readers; following the principles of continuity and perspective in education, systematic approach, implementation of personality-oriented, competence-based, activity-based, cultural and integrated approaches; methodical bases of implementation of the content of school literary education in correlation with the provisions of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education are grounded; the content of school literary education for grades 7-9 of general secondary education institutions in the context of the requirements of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education was prepared; new content of school literary education was implemented in the curricula for grades 7-9 and in the existing textbooks of Ukrainian literature and the integrated course of literature (Ukrainian and foreign) for grade 7, the conception of which is based on the principles of person-centred, competence-based, cultural, activity-based and integrated approaches, text-centred and reader-centred principles.
