The reasons for the current state and low level of integration of language and literature subjects have been identified. The conclusion has been made about the need to correlate the programs of integrated courses of Ukrainian and foreign literature with the curricula of general secondary education institutions with instruction in the languages of national minorities, as well as to relieve them, changes in approaches to the selection of works of fiction; modernization of model programs of integrated literature courses (foreign literature and national literature: minority languages), which are directly developed for general education institutions with instruction in the languages of national minorities, creation of model programs of integrated language and literature courses (language and literature of national minorities) according to the new State Standard of Basic Secondary Education. It has been established that the effectiveness of the process of creating and implementing integrated courses in general secondary education institutions with instruction in national minority languages depends on the implementation of the following didactic principles: the principle of humanization and democratization, the principle of systematicity and complexity; the principle of individualization; the principle of accessibility; the principle of developmental learning; the principle of educational training; the principle of professional competence of teachers. The optimal options for integrating subjects of the language and literature branch in general secondary education institutions with instruction in national minority languages have been determined.
