The comparative and interpretative (first) stage of the scientific study was completed, during which the results of the analysis of the source base on the research problem were summarised; the categorical and conceptual apparatus of the study was clarified; the history of European integration in the field of education and training was analysed; the conceptual foundations of integration in the European educational space were characterised; the EU policy in the area of education and training in the context of global challenges and systemic transformations was revealed; the strategic priorities of European cooperation in the area of education and training until 2030 in the format of the European Education Area are analysed; the guidelines of the international community for the development of quality education for all in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals are revealed; the directions and innovative practices of integration in the national systems of general secondary education of the EU Member States are characterised.
