The results of experimental studies of the influence of local damage on the damping capacity of composite materials and rod elements are presented. The forced nonlinear oscillations and energy dissipation of cantilever composite rods with local damage from impact are experimentally investigated. The regularities of the influence of local damage on the characteristics of the non-ideal elastic response of the system to harmonic loading are established. A cycle of computational studies is carried out to determine the characteristics of nonlinear oscillations of multilayer rods with internal damage of the delamination type with a transverse crack (T-shaped crack).
