To monitor the radioecological indicators of forest fund objects, to provide develop methods, theories, and practical recommendations on forest management in conditions of radioactive contamination
popup.description2
The research work determined the content of 137Cs in the soil. Radioactive fallout in forest ecosystems has a high-gradient and mosaic nature, which leads to a heterogeneous distribution of radionuclides in the territory. One of the factors that influence the formation of radioactive contamination of forest ecosystems is meteorological conditions, such as wind direction and speed, which can contribute to the movement of radioactive substances in a certain direction.
The research was conducted during 2024 in the conditions of radionuclide-contaminated soils of the Polissya zone of Ukraine on the territory of the subsidiary enterprise "Korostenskyi lishosp apk" of the Zhytomyr regional municipal agroforestry enterprise "Zhytomyroblagrolis" of the Zhytomyr regional council.
When performing our research work, we used general and special methods of scientific research. Among the general methods, the following were applied: observation, comparison, measurement, monitoring, induction, formalization, synthesis and modeling. A number of special methods were also used.
The survey of forest soil was carried out in 12 blocks of forest vegetation conditions: group A 1 (22, 33, 40 blocks); group A 2 (12, 18, 52 blocks); group B 1 (18, 25, 29 blocks). Soil samples were taken in ten plots (allotments) of twelve blocks. The area of the studied allotments was within 0.9‒1.7 hectares each.
