During the reporting period, an experimental methodological system and a model for training future biology teachers in the NUS were developed and tested. The criterion basis of the experimental work was formed by components, criteria and corresponding indicators. The key components of the professional training of future biology teachers in the context of the NUS are identified and characterized in detail: value-motivational, cognitive, activity and reflective. A system of criteria and indicators for each of the identified components has been developed. The value-motivational component involves the formation of a stable pedagogical orientation, a high level of social responsibility and readiness for continuous professional development in future teachers. The key criteria of this component are: pedagogical orientation; value orientation; motivation for professional activity; social responsibility. The cognitive component involves in-depth knowledge of the subject area, modern pedagogical theories and technologies. The key criteria are: in-depth knowledge of biology; pedagogical knowledge; methodological competencies; information competence. The activity component covers the acquisition of practical skills necessary for organizing and conducting the educational process. The key criteria are: educational and methodological, communicative, organizational, and research activities. The reflexive component includes the ability to self-analyze, critically evaluate one's own activities and continuous professional growth. The key criteria are: self-analysis; reflection; readiness for change; professional self-regulation.
