The aim of the research is to study and assess the health status of modern youth; develop new and improve existing health-preserving pedagogical technologies that ensure the individual health of young people and implement them in the educational process. Theoretical and practical results: Based on the analysis of modern scientific, methodological, and normative literature, the main methodological approaches to studying the problem of assessing individual health and increasing the adaptive capabilities of children and youth by means of health-saving educational technologies have been identified and substantiated. The features of the functional state of the cardiovascular and central nervous systems, the level of physical performance of students in the process of educational mental and physical exertion, and the state of regulatory systems have been determined. The nature of the correlations between indicators of physical development, physical performance, and the functional state of the cardiovascular and central nervous systems of students under the conditions of educational and physical exertion have been established. Novelty: The concept of functional integration, functional reserves and adaptive capabilities as the basis of individual health of student youth has been supplemented; the age and gender characteristics of the health level of young men and women aged 17–21 have been determined, and its deterioration during study in higher education institutions has been shown; the examination methodology, criteria and methods for assessing individual health and increasing the adaptive capabilities of children and youth by means of health-saving educational technologies have been improved; the logic of conducting a comprehensive psychophysiological examination of student youth has been developed.
