The object of research at the fourth stage ‘Technical methods of information security in transport’ of the department's research work on the topic ‘Information and analytical activities and physical and mathematical methods of information security in transport’ was the processes of implementing technical methods of information security used to secure automated systems, building models of effective systems for the protection of transport information networks.
Purpose - to study and summarise the technical methods and tools used in modern information security systems for automated systems for the development and implementation of information security models for the transport industry.
Research methods - methods of systems theory, theory of analysis, modelling and optimisation of management processes, simulation modelling, comparative analysis, use of mathematical models of encryption of static attributes, development of information models and methods of their research, as well as technologies for their implementation in the transport industry.
The subject of research is methods and means of ensuring information security in transport.
Results. Modern technical methods used to build effective information security systems for automated systems, namely, detection and prevention of intrusions in the transport sector, are considered.
Further research may be aimed at a comparative analysis of the considered technical methods of information protection with a view to developing such combinations of methods that will eliminate or minimise the existing shortcomings of modern information security models. Perfect systems for detecting and preventing information attacks should be characterised by low computational complexity, high adaptability, sufficient stability, minimum number of false positives, correctness, verifiability, etc.
