 The 21-page interim report contains information on the first stage of the research, the purpose of which was to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations and analyze leading experience in determining university development strategies from the point of synergy of social and institutional transformations of higher education, science, and the economy, including a statement of practical meaning and main current conclusions and recommendations, as well as the list of publications. The report is accompanied by a table with a list of contributors. The results of this stage relate primarily to the determination of the main foundations of the work, the formulation of the conceptual and terminological apparatus, the analysis of major regulatory and legal documents on the topic and existing works of Ukrainian and foreign authors, as well as the leading experience and practices of the transformation of individual universities in Ukraine and European countries. In particular, the authors of the research considered, analyzed and outlined the value principles and humanistic foundations of the development of modern universities in terms of the correspondence of social and institutional transformations of higher education, science and economy; the role of HEIs as institutions that directly influence the development of communities and regions, taking into account the key principles and goals of sustainable development; the impact of the latest AI-based technologies on educational processes and the opportunities and risks associated with their implementation in higher education and society as a whole; the status of HEIs as subjects of economic activity and the compliance of existing national regulatory and legal documents with international standards; possible approaches to determining the requirements for knowledge, skills, and abilities of future graduates in the context of the post-war renovation of Ukraine.
