Research methods are monographic, graphic, analysis and synthesis, abstraction, generalization, analogy and logical methods. Statistical research methods, comparative analysis and the operational method of solving differential equations were also used. The subject of the study is a set of theoretical, methodological and practical aspects regarding the development of an energy-efficient technology for processing walnuts and equipment for its implementation, as well as the adaptation of this equipment in the technologies of processing other types of products. The conducted studies showed the feasibility of using solar air heaters to remove surface moisture and outlined ways to increase the efficiency of their work. One of the most effective ways to intensify the drying process is to apply vibration to the material layer in order to reduce its aerodynamic resistance, which, accordingly, increases the coefficient of heat and mass transfer in the material layer. To assess the efficiency of drying processes, along with traditional indicators, it is proposed to use criteria for the similarity of heat exchange processes. To increase the energy efficiency of nut processing technology, it is proposed to use their shells as an alternative fuel. During the production test of the developed module of the convective-vibration dryer, the energy consumption for evaporation of 1 kg of moisture was 3.91 MJ/kg. The results obtained indicate the adequacy of the developed and proposed measures and means for the creation and implementation of the technology of complete processing of walnuts.
