The properties of such products are determined by a complex array of parameters, with key factors including chemical composition, mineralogical composition, structural and textural features, chromatic and decorative characteristics, as well as a range of mechanical properties. The analysis of quality indicators for products made from natural (semi-precious and decorative) stones encompasses the examination of macrostructural and microstructural characteristics that shape their optical properties, including dispersion, color intensity, and color uniformity. These parameters are assessed using optical research methods, such as spectrophotometry and microscopy in both conventional and polarized light. Concurrently, mechanical properties, such as strength, hardness, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance, are evaluated using instrumental analysis techniques, ensuring the objectivity and precision of measurements. The chemical durability of stones is investigated through experimental methodologies simulating the effects of aggressive environments, such as natural and anthropogenic acids and salts. This enables the assessment of material longevity under various operational conditions. Additionally, an essential aspect of analysis is the evaluation of mineralogical homogeneity, which significantly influences the stability of the physical and mechanical properties of the products. In the process of developing a digital quality control and management system, it is crucial to integrate data on quality parameters into a unified database, facilitating real-time analysis and predictive modeling.
