Registration Date 19-03-2025 Organization National Technscal University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute". popup.description1 The study of theoretical and applied regularities of language and speech units functioning popup.description2  As a result of carrying out the research topic, we updated the professional educational programme of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education "Germanic languages and literatures (including translation), primary – English", the educational and scientific programme for PhD students in the specialty 035 "Philology", the field of science – 03 Humanities, the F-catalogues for the learners of all levels of higher education, having added the elective disciplines in the spheres of literary studies and Military Translation, as well as developed a number of distance courses, e.g., "Practical Translation Course", "Terminology", "Translation of Scientific and Technical Literature", etc. Within the undertaken research topic, the department continued to study various aspects of linguistics and translation with a view to elucidating intercultural aspects of the language and speech use and interpretation for effective communication as well as implementing results of translation studies into promotion of intercultural understanding. A programme and methodology for studying the interplay of lexico-grammatical, prosodic, and paralingual means in English public speeches of charismatic leaders have been developed. The mechanisms actualising public speakers’ manipulative influence on the audience have been substantiated. A methodology for linguistic-energetic research into the actualization of lingual and extralingual means of adolescents’ communicative behaviour has been proposed. We have also substantiated a set of communicative strategies and tactics aimed at countering the aggressor’s narratives. Recommendations have been put forward regarding the application of translation transformations in English-Ukrainian translations in the fields of engineering and shipbuilding, while translating terminology of NATO documents and patent documentation, as well as while translating various literary genres into Ukrainian.
