The study is based on a number of assumptions that arise from the analysis of the development of the political process in Ukraine in recent years. The author analyzes the threats to Ukraine's possible authoritarian prospects, which are exacerbated by the specifics of martial law, and outlines potential measures to prevent them - restoration of a full-fledged system of social elevators, re-institutionalization of the party system, strengthening of political responsibility of MPs, finalization of the mechanism of checks and balances in the branches of power, achievement of subsidiarity of social space, etc. The authors conclude that excessive centralization has a negative impact on the development of regions. The study contains a number of other equally relevant recommendations for preventing predictable negative situations in the media sphere, cultural and educational policy, social work, etc. Considering the scenario of preserving the UOC-MP in the religious space of the country, the authors rightly warn of the potential danger of ignoring a large enough number of its supporters, of granting one of the churches, even a nationally oriented one, a monopoly on spiritual pastoral care.
