On the basis of experimental results and theoretical justification, a generalized diagram of the location of characteristic local areas with maximum tangential stresses, which are dangerous during the operation of parts, for polymer and polymer-composite materials with high-modulus filler and kaolin in static and dynamic modes of operation was constructed. The computer modeling method was adapted to the research results. Factors affecting the depth of location of local areas with maximum tangential stress and which make it possible to control these areas have been identified. The conditions for optimizing the distribution of high-modulus fillers, which provide maximum wear resistance, taking into account the distance between filler particles, their shape and size, and volume content, were found. This made it possible to control the parameters of the contact interaction of the tribocouples of the parts, the depth of the activated surface layer of the material, and purposefully influence the wear resistance during operation. The effort on different types of tribo-coupling contacts of parts in static and dynamic modes of operation is considered, taking into account the modulus of elasticity and Poisson's constant of matrix materials and fillers, the share of areas occupied by one or another type of contacts, and the nominal pressure in them is also determined. It is shown that the performance efficiency of tribocouplers made of polymer-composite materials should be evaluated by the critical pressure in the contact surfaces of the parts. A number of tribological principles for designing polymer composite materials and substantiation of their feasibility and efficiency of use and requirements for their structure and properties are formulated.
