Working Hypothesis: Replacing physical laboratory stands with an educational software tool for simulating laboratory work will improve the acquisition of practical skills during the training of mechanical engineers and enable learning without being tied to classrooms. Project Objective: Improving the quality of mechanical engineers' training during distance learning by acquiring practical skills through virtual laboratory complexes based on the Moodle educational environment. It has been established that the use of virtual laboratory stands in the training of mechanical engineers will increase the efficiency of the educational process by activating acquired knowledge during independent research, enhancing students' motivation and interest in mastering new material, and acquiring skills in working with industrial equipment. Virtual stands can be successfully used for both full-time and part-time forms of education, including distance learning formats. Four groups of virtual stands have been identified based on the nature of the studied objects and analyzed in terms of their applicability in the educational process using internet technologies. It has been established that all of them, to varying degrees, can be applied in the training of mechanical engineers using modern educational web portals for distance learning. A methodology for creating virtual laboratory practicals for mechanical engineering students has been developed. The means of implementing virtual laboratory works of reproductive, partially exploratory, and exploratory nature have been investigated. Using the developed methodology, a series of virtual laboratory stands has been created for disciplines in the training of specialists in industrial engineering.
