The object of research is the process of ensuring the balanced development of railway transport enterprises. Purpose - to develop theoretical and methodological foundations, methodological approaches and practical recommendations for ensuring the balanced development of railway transport enterprises in the context of digital restructuring of their operating environment. Research methods - a system of general and special research methods was used, namely comparative analysis and graphical method, systematisation and classification, abstraction and logical analysis, systematic approach, modelling, expert and calculation-analytical. The theoretical and methodological foundations, methodological approaches and practical recommendations for ensuring the balanced development of railway transport enterprises in the context of digital changes in the industry have been developed through the use of digital tools for transforming the business model and modernising services, business processes and competencies of railway transport enterprises. The results of the work have been implemented in the activities of the regional branch ‘Southern Railway’ of JSC ‘Ukrainian Railways’. Also, the theoretical and practical developments proposed in the paper are used in the educational process of the Ukrainian State University of Railway Transport. The methodological approaches, theoretical conclusions and practical recommendations substantiated in this research paper can be used in the process of developing a strategy for ensuring the balanced growth of railway enterprises.
