The use of therapy in the form of a combination of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and long-acting calcium antagonists allows achieving target blood pressure values in most patients. Additional training of patients in the "School of Diabetes and Overweight" regarding diet therapy, physical activity, self-control of glycemia and blood pressure allows achieving lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure values during home and daily outpatient blood pressure monitoring.
