For the first time, a comprehensive analysis has been undertaken of the simulacrum’s influence on the transformation of cultural paradigms, as well as on the social imagination as a necessary precondition for societal transformations. Particular attention is focused on the concepts of «simulated reality» as a distinctive feature of the present, and on the fake as an instrument of cognitive warfare. The research also explores the effects of post-colonial legacies on the representations of memory in urban public spaces.
