The methodological basis of the study was formed by competence-based, activity-based, personality-oriented and acmeological approaches. The structure of professional competence of future teachers of natural sciences has been developed. The components of future teachers' readiness for professional activity have been identified: axiological, motivational-goal-oriented, cognitive and praxeological; an acmeological approach to the formation of professionalism has been substantiated. A methodology has been developed for preparing future teachers for project-based learning, as well as ways to implement cognitive-visual technologies in the educational process. The effectiveness of using a problem-based analytical approach and case method in the study of biological disciplines has been substantiated. The components of professional competence in the context of European integration processes have been identified – cognitive, value-based, sociocultural, prognostic and methodological. Approaches have been revealed and a framework model for the formation of a scientific and research culture among teachers has been proposed, which ensures the improvement of their professional competence, innovation and readiness for activity in the conditions of the transformation of modern education. Methods have been developed to prepare future teachers to use smart technologies, digital resources, online platforms, GIS technologies, video scribing, augmented reality, and interactive methods in teaching natural sciences. Approaches to shaping the environmental culture and soft skills of future teachers and increasing their motivation for professional growth have been substantiated. The possibilities of applying STEM-oriented technologies in the system of training teachers of natural sciences are outlined.
