Implementation of the proposed GDR will qualitatively change the source base of archaeological cultures of the first millennium AD. and provide new opportunities for archaeological research and historical reconstructions. popup.description2 The object of research during the implementation of the research was the end of the 1st millennium BC - the 1st millennium AD on the territory of Ukraine, marked by active migration and ethnocultural processes, diverse contacts of the multi-ethnic mass of the population, and, ultimately, Slavic ethnogenesis up to the formation of Kyivan Rus. The relevance of the research work lies in the significant expansion and qualitative improvement of the source base, which was created and analyzed in accordance with the modern requirements of archaeological science. This allowed us to expand our knowledge about ethnogenesis and the most ancient stages of the development of Slavic tribes and their neighbors in the 1st millennium AD. Ukraine is the only European country whose archaeological sites represent all stages of the ethnogenesis of the Slavs; therefore, practical and analytical research by Ukrainian researchers goes far beyond the borders of the country and influences the development of Slavic studies in neighboring countries.
