popup.description1
Enrichment of genetic resource collections of apple, pear, sweet cherry, sour cherry, sour and sweet cherry hybrids, peach, nectarine and apricot of MRFGS named after M.F.Sydorenko of IH of NAAS with new samples-sources of valuable economic and biological traits and their complexes, in particular: resistance to spring frosts, drought resistance, disease resistance, self-fertility, large fruit size, high marketability, yield, etc.; maintenance of information database, registration of samples and gene pool collection, ex-situ preservation of orchards
popup.description2
The following results were obtained during the research: The working collection of stone fruit crops of the IS NAAS includes 43 samples of apricots, cherry plums, cherries, and sweet cherries. Fourteen samples of stone fruit crops were added to the collection. In 2023, a working collection of common apricots was created for the gene pool of stone fruit crops of the IS, consisting of 10 samples of domestic and foreign selection. In 2025, four samples of apricot Syn Tabarzi, A-18, Osoblyvy Denisyuka, and Syayvo were selected as resistant to abiotic environmental factors.
The following economically valuable traits of the IS NAAS gene pool were identified: 8 apricot samples, 11 cherry samples, 5 cherry samples, and 2 cherry samples were selected based on yield, early fruiting, and resistance to abiotic and biotic environmental factors. Working collections are maintained for all stone fruit crops.
