The purpose of the work at the third stage of the scientific research work is the studies to determine rational wheel parameters to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for dynamic performance and wheel-track interaction of railway trains under operating conditions on domestic and European railways. Research methods – mathematical and computer modeling of vibrations of complex mechanical systems. During the implementation of the third stage of the research, the following results were obtained: – an assessment was carried out of the feasibility of using the ITM-73EP and ITM-73EC wheel tread profiles as a single unified profile for passenger and freight cars with prospective trucks under operating conditions on Ukrainian and European railways; – an analysis was performed of the influence of track maintenance conditions on the dynamic performance of railway cars intended for combined operation on Ukrainian and European railways; – a rational shape of the wheel tread profile was determined to ensure regulatory indicators of dynamics and wheel-track interaction for passenger and freight cars under operating conditions on Ukrainian and European railways. The results obtained at this stage will be used further to perform calculations for selecting rational parameters of the rail track during the automated transition of trains from one track gauge to another.
