popup.description1
On the basis of establishing the peculiarities of the processes of structure formation and phase transformations, develop technological solutions for obtaining high-strength thick-rolled products of responsible purpose from low-alloy steel.
popup.description2
The research work is devoted to an experimental investigation of the structure, mechanical, service, and operational properties of experimental low-carbon high-strength steels with different chemical compositions substantiated by previous analytical studies. Under laboratory conditions, experimental steels of the designed chemical compositions were produced using a method of introducing alloying elements in a protective metallic container with forced immersion into the molten metal, which ensured normal alloying element recovery and an acceptable level of non-metallic inclusions for heavy plate products. In the as-cast state, the experimental steels are characterized by pronounced dendritic segregation, while structure formation occurs predominantly via an intermediate transformation mechanism with the formation of bainitic structures. Using calculation-based approaches, critical temperatures and the kinetics of austenite decomposition in steels of different chemical compositions were determined for cooling rates that ensure the formation of lower carbide-free bainite or fine-dispersed sorbitic structures. After hot plastic deformation, the microstructure of the laboratory heats consists predominantly of acicular martensite with isolated bainitic regions and fragments of lamellar eutectoid structures, while pronounced dendritic segregation is retained. The analysis of the influence of various heat treatment regimes demonstrated the possibility of targeted control of the microstructure and mechanical properties of low-carbon high-strength steels. In particular, tempering at temperatures of 340–360 °C preserves or increases hardness, high-temperature annealing at 620–650 °C reduces structural heterogeneity with a significant decrease in hardness, whereas high-temperature normalization provides the highest hardness values. Recommendations for rational heat treatment regimes were developed, enabling the production of steels with different combinations of mechanical, ser
