In particular, MALAT1 expression levels were 3.2 times higher in clear cell renal cell carcinoma and 2.8 times higher in papillary bladder cancer compared with individuals without oncological diseases; carriers of the GG genotype of rs619586 exhibited a 40% higher expression level than carriers of the AA genotype. The expression of the HOTAIR gene was also significantly elevated in patients with urinary system cancers – by 4.1 times in clear cell renal cell carcinoma and by 3.3 times in papillary bladder cancer – and the presence of the minor allele of the rs4759314 polymorphism was associated with higher expression levels. Similarly, ANRIL expression exceeded control values by 1.8 times in clear cell renal cell carcinoma and by 1.5 times in papillary bladder cancer; carriers of the CC genotype of rs1333049 had a 52% higher expression level compared with carriers of the GG genotype. Mathematical modeling revealed that the development of malignant tumors of the urinary system is significantly influenced by the rs1333049 genotype of the ANRIL gene, sex, and tobacco smoking in clear cell renal cell carcinoma, as well as by the rs1333049 ANRIL genotype and body mass index in papillary bladder cancer. At the same time, the rs619586 genotype of the MALAT1 gene was identified as an independent risk factor for the development and metastasis of both malignancies and as a factor affecting overall patient survival Product Description popup.authors Viktoriia Y.
