Particular attention was paid to the state of enzymatic systems that ensure the interaction of glycolysis, gluconeogenesis and the tricarboxylic acid cycle, as well as the mechanisms of transport of reduced equivalents in mitochondria. The results obtained allow us to consider changes in the activity of pyruvate kinase, lactate dehydrogenase, NAD and NADP-dependent malate dehydrogenases, phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, as well as the lactate/pyruvate and malate/oxaloacetate ratios and the levels of ATP, ADP and AMP as a sensitive system of early biochemical markers of post-radiation disorders. The identified clear dose-dependent nature of intergenerational metabolic changes emphasizes the importance of long-term monitoring of the state of the muscular and cardiovascular systems in the offspring of individuals exposed to ionizing radiation. The complex of identified biochemical markers can be used for early detection and prediction of long-term post-radiation effects, assessment of the risk of metabolic decompensation, and justification of approaches to metabolic therapy in clinical practice.
