The comparison groups were represented by 122 men and women examined before the war. The questionnaires PSS-10, PCL-5, STAI, BDI, ISQ, immunoenzymatic and biochemical methods, heart rate variability analysis, laser Doppler flowmetry, determination of biological age and aging rate, and the Food Frequency Questionnaire were used. The effectiveness of quercetin was studied in 65 women with stress-associated mental and somatic disorders. During the war, women and men had increased levels of cortisol in their blood and increased sympathetic nervous system activity, indicating chronic stress. Prolonged stress led to more significant psychoemotional and sleep disorders in women than in men. In women, war stress led to the development of insulin resistance and adverse changes in carbohydrate metabolism. In elderly women and men, unlike young people, atherogenic changes in blood lipid composition increased during the war. In young men and women, prolonged stress worsened the function of the microvascular endothelium. The frequency of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) according to the PCL-5 questionnaire during the war in civilian men is three times lower than in women (p<0.05). The frequency of PTSD is highest in young women (40%) and decreases to 14% in elderly women. Women with PTSD had significantly higher levels of depression and anxiety, and more than half had significant sleep disturbances. In addition, during the war, women with PTSD had increased insulin resistance, an increased incidence of prediabetes, dyslipidemia, endothelial dysfunction, increased biological age, and accelerated aging.
