popup.description1
To improve the results of combined treatment and the quality of life of patients with malignant gliomas of the brain by means of stereotaxic radiosurgery in the preoperative stage of surgical removal of the tumor and a personalized approach in treatment with a combination of modern chemotherapeutic, radiation and target technologies
popup.description2
The fatality of the unfavorable prognosis in malignant gliomas in most cases, the high level of disability and mortality in a short time from the onset of the disease give special medical and social significance to determining the optimal tactics of their treatment, based on an interdisciplinary approach.
The priority area of scientific research was the development of new and improvement of existing methods of treatment of patients with malignant gliomas.
A retrospective analysis of a large sample of patients showed that the combination of neuromonitoring and "wake-up" anesthesia in the surgery of diffuse gliomas increases the safety and effectiveness of operations in functionally important areas of the brain. This allows you to accurately localize and preserve critical neural structures and improve treatment results.
Hypofractionated radiotherapy may be an acceptable alternative to standard PT in elderly patients with GB, which allows to reduce the duration of the irradiation course, increase comfort for patients, improving their quality of life, reduce epidemiological risks, optimize both the work of medical institutions and, accordingly, economic costs.
The importance of immunohistochemical and molecular genetic studies for brain gliomas is undeniable. It has been established that the risk of glioblastoma is 4.88 times higher in individuals who are homozygous carriers of the mutant allele of the GSTP1 gene compared to other polymorphic variants of this gene. It has been established that there is an association between the IL-10 gene polymorphism (C819T), in homozygous carriers with the T819T genotype, the risk of developing glioblastoma increases by 6.40 times.
For GH, especially GB, a high degree of vascularization is characteristic, which makes them an ideal target for antiangiogenic therapy. The central regulator of angiogenesis and mediator of these processes is VEGF, the level of which can be a potential diagnostic and prognostic biomarker.
