It has been shown that laparoscopic liver resections are associated with a statistically significant reduction in the incidence of postoperative complications (3.8% vs. 11.7%), a reduction in the duration of hospitalisation, and a reduction in the need for intensive care monitoring compared to open resections. The duration of surgery, blood loss, and 90-day mortality did not differ significantly between the groups.
