1. To establish the optimal regime of mineral fertilization for the productivity of Scots pine in a natural stands on the sod and -ash soils.
2. To establish the effect of nitrogen-fixing and phosphate-mobilizing microbial preparations on the productivity of Scots pine of natural origin.
3. To establish the influence of deciduous species (breed composition and density) on productivity.

The study focuses on developing a comprehensive approach to enhancing the productivity of natural Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) stands formed on fallow lands of the Polissya region through natural afforestation. In Ukraine, more than 1 million hectares of post-agricultural land constitute a significant reserve for expanding forest resources without additional costs for artificial stand establishment. However, natural stands on such lands are often characterized by insufficient density, uneven structure, and reduced productivity. A comprehensive study aimed at optimizing stand productivity was conducted at the Educational, Research and Production Unit “Desnianka” of Chernihiv Polytechnic National University. The classical forest typology methodology was adapted to determine forest site types on fallow lands. Natural stands on sod-podzolic soils were found to have a relative density of 0.6–0.7 and site index classes II–III. The effectiveness of different nitrogen fertilizers was experimentally confirmed. Ammonium nitrate increased seedling height growth by 25–30% compared to the control and proved more effective at early growth stages due to faster plant uptake, whereas urea provided a more prolonged effect. For the first time under Polissya conditions, the high potential of biological intensification was confirmed: the application of nitrogen-fixing and phosphate-mobilizing microbial preparations increased seedling survival by 15–20%, stimulated root development, and improved plant water status. The potential for forming mixed stands by introducing broadleaved species (poplar) into natural pine stands was also examined. A comprehensive approach combining optimized mineral nutrition, microbial preparations, and mixed-species stand formation is substantiated, providing a synergistic effect. The practical significance lies in developing scientifically grounded measures to enhance the productivity of natural pine stands on fallow lands.
