Purpose of the study – to improve the general methodology of forensic handwriting examination, to update it in accordance with modern requirements, and to generalize a substantial body of literature and expert practice related to these types of examinations.
Research methods – general methods (formal-logical methods of cognition: analysis, synthesis, generalization, analogy), general scientific and special methods (observation, measurement, description, comparison, expert evaluation method, probabilistic-statistical methods; technical-forensic methods: identification, microscopic, quantitative methods, modeling, forensic experimentation).
Theoretical and practical results – the general methodology of forensic handwriting examination has been improved and modernized in accordance with contemporary scientific standards.
