Object of research – physicochemical and technological foundations of processes for obtaining metals and alloys. Theoretical results: The problem of using information technologies in the educational process in higher education institutions was investigated. A set of works was carried out to improve and expand the functional capabilities of the steelmaking production control system (SCC) “Master”. A thermodynamic model of a steelmaking bath has been developed, including metal, slag and gas phases, which allows predicting the main parameters of melting before the start of actual temperature measurements and express metal analyses, and then correcting the forecast trajectories according to the data of actual measurements. Innovative technologies for increasing technogenic safety are considered using the example of converter production. The mechanism, kinetics and technology for obtaining MgCl2 by interacting MgCO3 with a mixture of Cl2+CO are investigated. Occupational safety in foundry production is considered: ergonomics, industrial sanitation and ventilation, electrical and fire safety. A comprehensive theoretical and experimental study of the deformation center in the process of cold rolling of steel billets is presented in order to accurately determine the coefficient of the position of the resultant force.
