The conditions for the use of problem-based tasks in the training of successful foreign language teachers were scientifically substantiated, and methodologies for ensuring effective communicative activity of future teachers were developed. It has been proven that for successful communicative-cognitive activity (CCA) it is necessary to teach a foreign language by integrating all types of speech activity. CCA serves as the basis for the formation of communicative-cognitive competence of a foreign language teacher in the modern school. CCC includes such competencies as professional, professional-pedagogical, practical, and others. Organizational and pedagogical conditions, as well as criteria and levels of formation of the main competencies of higher education students – future teachers – have been identified. Objective data on the principles of the effectiveness of test tasks for senior students of the specialty 014 Secondary Education (Language and Literature (English)) have been obtained. The scientific-theoretical foundations and practical recommendations for compiling teaching and methodological manuals have been clarified, and teaching and methodological manuals have been published for the following disciplines: Practical English (Bachelor’s degree, years 3–4) [15], Second Language (English) (Bachelor’s degree, years 3–4) [13], Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages (Bachelor’s degree, years 3–4) [8; 10], Practical Grammar (Bachelor’s degree, year 3) [12], History of the English Language (Bachelor’s degree, year 3) [14], and Academic Writing (Master’s degree) [18].
