Moreover, today, a particularly important source for the nuclear industry is the possibility of correctly assigning the value of mechanical power to the metal of the typical nuclear power plant, which lies in the development and scientific development stage methods for their assessment. In order to improve the effectiveness of in-line control of the metal properties of NPP metals using methods of non-disruptive control, a new analysis of methods for determining the characteristics of mechanical properties of metals of other elements of the AES design was carried out based on the results of Brinell hardness and parameters of instrumented indentation diagrams. Based on experimental studies of pipeline metal, methods for calculating the mechanical characteristics of steels based on the results of hardness tests have been analyzed, which will be used in the nuclear industry of Ukraine and Russia. The main trends in the development of the measurement of mechanical characteristics using the method of tooled indentation are reviewed. It was found that the results of testing using different methods and experimental techniques for Brinell hardness measurement and indentation were different. The need to improve the current regulatory document for routine inspection of NPP equipment is demonstrated. An analysis of the current state of experimental equipment for Brinell hardness measurement has been carried out in order to harmonize national standards with international ones. Recommendations for the use of such equipment are provided. The results of the study will improve the reliability of critical NPP equipment, allowing for a better determination of its structural strength and service life prediction.
