The national interests of Ukraine have always been in the focus of attention of specialists and legislators due to their close connection with national security. Before the start of the large-scale invasion, the scientific discourse on these problems was somewhat abstract, and the relevant regulatory provisions played the role of declarations. Despite the hybrid military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which has been ongoing since 2014, the issues of legal support for national interests were mainly reduced to improving the norms-definitions and to a much lesser extent related to the practical application of a set of norms that regulated individual national interests or their aggregates. With the beginning of the armed attack in February 2022, legislative activity acquired, to a certain extent, a chaotic nature, which was due to a large number of current tasks. Because of this, strategic issues of ensuring the implementation of Ukraine's national interests both in conditions of armed aggression and with the prospect of a reconstruction period remained on the periphery of attention.
